Amy Poehler

© Lauren Greenfield

Amy Poehler, 37, is the main character of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”, which debuted in April 2009, and films in Studio City, California. The show, a weekly mockumentary-style comedy, follows a Parks and Recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana. The plot is scripted around ongoing bureaucratic obstacles faced when they try to build a city park. Poehler, as deputy director, leads her staff ahead with naïve optimism and a happy lunacy: qualities that have become her signature acting tone.
