Capitalism and consumerism have found a new home with the Chinese elite. China’s upper class has shown a growing interest in designer brands, luxury cars, country clubs, plastic surgery, and nightlife. With private enterprise and rapid development, China is now the world's sixth largest economy, ahead of Italy. China boasts over 250,000 millionaires and in 2005, China’s economy grew an astounding 10%, much faster than initial forecasts predicted.
