Come Closer

The greatest threat to a humane and compassionate asylum policy is the distance between those that ask for our protection and us. We therefore ask you to come a little closer. Asylum seekers approach us with their stories of war and dictatorships. They are stories of loss, assault and fear. The Norwegian government discourages the publication of these stories, as it does not want the people to become too familiar and invested with the individuals behind them, especially as they are also documents of harsh encounters with Norwegian asylum policies.
