Disco Divas

©  Marie Hald

In Denmark the dancing form 'Disco Freestyle’ (in UK called Freestyle Dancing) is extremely popular especially to adolescent girls. Hundreds of girls journey to gymnasiums all over Denmark to dance in competitions and in the end with the hope of becoming the National Champion.

Disco Freestyle can be practiced performing solo or in groups of two to three. A group of contestants compete on the floor while judges deselect until the final song where only a couple of dancers compete against each other.
