© Lauren Greenfield

Donatella Versace, 52, Creative Director of the Versace Group receives a Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award along with her late brother Gianni Versace, who was murdered in 1997. A-list celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Beyonce, Christina Ricci, and all the supermodels (Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, etc.) came out in droves to celebrate the Versace dynasty. Elton John, who had been one of Gianni Versace’s closest friends, sang hits like “Rocket Man” and “Your Song” in honor of the late designer.
After the death of her brother in 1997 Donatella took over the Versace empire. In 2004 she ended an 18-year drug dependency with cocaine. Now, Donatella is the queen of the family dynasty with a new critically acclaimed collection that is thrusting the Versace name into the spotlight once again.
