Lipstick Lesbians

© Lauren Greenfield

In West Hollywood, there is a new crop of feminine lesbians, unafraid of lip gloss and short skirts; the hip L.A. homosexuals who look like they could change a flat tire in high heels.
Decked out, gregarious, and sometimes promiscuous, the hot lesbian weekend circuit begins at Here Bar's "Fuse Thursdays," followed by The Factory’s “Girl Bar” Friday nights. As crowds line up outside Girl Bar, the bouncer warns approaching men that inside women dance with women. The scene is a no holds barred party where female patrons embrace traditional male roles, stuffing bills into the spandex bikini bottoms of go-go dancers.
