Motorcycle Phenomena Club
© Ariel TagarFor the past five years, photographer Ariel Tagar travelled the world, taking portraits of riders with their motorcycles. A single rider, standing alone next to his/her vehicle. But a rider is never truly alone. Whether they like it or not, they are always a part of a community, a club, a phenomenon. What started with Ariel’s 2017 Guardian piece: Vespa Club Uganda, evolved into a long quest for telling untold motorcycle stories through portraits. Ariel searched the world for lesser-known communities such as the motorcycle taxis of Kenya, the elderly farmers of Portugal, the Dominant Divas of North Carolina and many others. All of these stories are told via piercing portraits and inquisitive storytelling, as seen by Ariel’s unique point of view.
