The series is in rememberance of the "summer of love" and the "flower power generation" of 1967, and its 50th anniversary this summer. The "flower power" expression was coined by the American beat poet Allen Ginsberg as a means to transform the Vietnam war protests into peaceful affirmative spectacles. The young generation embraced the symbolism by dressing in clothing with embroidered flowers and vibrant colours. Psychedelic drugs were frequently used in order to expand consciousness and experience altered awareness of the surroundings. "Psychedelic" derives from the ancient Greek words psychē "soul"and dēloun "to make visible, to reveal" - translating to "mind-revealing".
