There are now more than 10,000 spas and beauty salons for teens and preteens in the United States. SpahhhT, a spa designed for kids in San Antonio, Texas, caters to girls ages 2-18 and offers treatments such as; “Twinkle Toe” pedicures, fully-clothed massage, and “Girlie-Girl Facials".

The beauty industry is capitalizing on the $20 billion per year teen market. This business opportunity is accelerating the speed in which children emulate adult activities. Gracie, 8, "thinks it's cool that there is a spa for kids, because most children don't get a chance to go until they are grown up. Spas help them relax because, sometimes, kids go through a lot of stress, like big tests and friend fights and stuff like that."
