Turkey Versus The World

Turkey is on the front pages of all the newspapers and, timely as ever, Riverboom releases it most recent feature: Turkey vs. The World.

Pitting what is left from the Ottoman Empire, and all the clichés that go with that notion, against visual equivalents from the rest of the world is Riverboom’s way to comprehend today’s Turkey.

East against West, yes. Modernity against tradition, sure. But also Istanbul’s Kebab slicers against Texans at the shooting range, Ataturk against Mao and the Dervish against the riding cowboys.

If in the news we see the protesters of Taksim square vs. Erdogan, Riverboom explores the less obvious contrasts.
