Tyra Banks In Miami

© Lauren Greenfield

In this series of portraits, supermodel Tyra Banks dons hip-hop clothes and lots of "bling-bling" (a newly added word to the Webster's dictionary meaning diamonds and all forms of showy style). She strikes a pose among gawking strangers on the beach, aging night clubbers, body builders, plastic surgery patients, tattoo artists, and senior citizens doing water aerobics. The photographs speak to Tyra's persona as a supermodel and the hedonism, materialism and exhibitionism of contemporary celebrity culture.
