Venice Film Festival
© Lauren GreenfieldThe Venice International Film Festival is the oldest and most glamorous of the film festivals. Stars, producers, directors, publicists, movie executives and photographers flock to what has become an annual feeding frenzy. The goal of all the participants is to create "buzz".
The festival acts as a publicity machine and is an essential component to the necessary promotion of a film product. The process of generating "buzz" is grueling work for all involved and even thought the Venice setting is idyllic and the accommodations are among the most luxurious in the world, it is an exhausting grind for the actors and reveals the day-to-day reality of being a movie star as less glamorous than ordinarily perceived.
